SunPower is currently seeking a Director, Solar Operations & Maintenance for a rapidly growing portfolio of solar energy projects in the United States. The Director Americas Residential O&M is responsible for the initiation, prioritization, management, and timely resolution of all O&M activities, including contract and warranty administration, and site operations and maintenance. The Director of O&M is responsible for fulfilling warranty and services obligations and maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction, while managing an O&M P&L and optimizing both customer service and profitability.


Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate fulfillment strategy for preventative & corrective maintenance for a portfolio including internal labor, installing dealers or subcontractors.
  • Manage/develop relationships with O&M contractors
  • Lead activities related to on-site maintenance, root-cause analysis, & warranty claims  
  • Manage spare parts inventories for portfolio & warranty claims
  • Evaluate ticket & maintenance data to help forecast project maintenance requirements and improve performance
  • Responsible for end-to-end program management, including establishing the vision and strategy, tactical plan development and execution, and measurement of the success of the operations and maintenance team, including cost reduction strategy and time to resolution improvement.
  • Collaborate with quality, customer care and operations and product management departments to develop strategy and implementation plans and budgets for field quality issues.
  • Responsible for the implementation and oversight of all policies and procedures devised in conjunction with quality, operations, and customer care departments.


Core Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s degree in business or equivalent preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in construction or operations
  • Strong quantitative data analysis skills, including advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Familiarity with PV system design & construction
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, changing environment and be detail-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
