Summary of Role:

SunPower New Homes is seeking a Commissioning Manager to work inter-departmentally to own program management and reduce project cycle times. This role includes working directly with commissioning supervisors and field technicians to train and performance manage. As well as with leaders of various departments to ensure new home requirements are being met with scheduling, data management, new product roll-outs, installation quality, and process development.

This position involves managing a high volume of residential and multi-family zoned projects across California territories. Expectations are that the manager is in control of all ongoing commissioning projects and associated tasks.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor key metrics of the commissioning team to ensure performance expectations are being met
  2. Oversee the training program for new homes commissioning technicians including: safety, process and documentation, installation quality, SunPower proprietary software and products
  3. Prepare reports and communicate to stakeholders in real-time, as to the results of commissioning activities
  4. Work directly with various internal teams to ensure smooth rollout of commissioning hardware and software across new homes fleet
  5. Subject matter expert in commissioning of PV systems, energy storage solutions (ESS), and monitoring software
  6. Develop training and processes for new equipment that may be specific to multi-family or storage projects
  7. Oversee commissioning supervisor(s) in their task of hiring, training of comm I, work with scheduling team and other GBFS support departments


Required Qualification:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  2. 3+ year’s experience working in CRM like SalesForce to manage a high volume of projects across multiple territory’s
  3. 2+ year’s experience managing a field-based team
  4. 2+ years of solar installation, troubleshooting, and repair experience
  5. 2+ years of experience working with solar production monitoring equipment and software
  6. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  7. Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills
  8. Expert with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


Required Qualification:

  1. Advanced knowledge of CA building codes, residential construction principles and best practices
  2. Advanced knowledge of National Electric Code
