New Homes - Multi-Family Field Manager

Summary of Role:

The new homes multifamily field manager (FM) role is to serve as the regional field-based liaison between SunPower stakeholders and the developer customer. Performance managing installation sub-contractors to contractual agreements and construction schedules, and maintaining relationships with developer teams, will be achieved with frequent visits to the construction site.

The FM is the subject matter expert in: SunPower construction drawings and electrical diagrams, construction timelines of SunPower scopes of work and how they relate to other trades, electrical switchgear and point of interconnection, and roofing and structural aspects related to mounting photovoltaic equipment to new or existing structures.

This position involves managing production schedules and various aspects of field quality by providing detailed updates in real-time to office-based teammates and documenting key aspects of the build. Communicating often with developer superintendents, peer trades, material logistics and sub-contractors will ensure SunPower does not fall behind on production schedules.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Attend on-site construction meetings with developer and trades as needed
  • Identify any elements of the build that will need special coordination and or modifications to construction drawings
  • Coordinate with the project management team to forecast production schedules and sub-contractor deliverables
  • Work interdepartmentally to performance manage sub-contractors to SunPower related products and installation processes
  • Work with authority having jurisdiction to ensure requirements are met in the build and inspections are passed 
  • Conduct multiple quality and safety audits over the course of construction
  • Troubleshoot photovoltaic systems and monitoring equipment
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve field issues and provide world-class customer service to both internal and external stakeholders

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in multi-family or commercial construction, or related trade(s)
  • Proficient in the installation of roof penetrations, electrical circuits, solar modules, transformers, switchgear, and grid-tied 3-phase applications
  • Strong understanding of national electrical code, California building code, as applies to commercial electrical and roofing systems
  • Expert in roofing and electrical systems
  • Ability to read construction drawings and electrical line diagrams
  • Excellent customer service skills in addition to solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Ability to travel between job sites
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Fall protection certification
  • CPR certification

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in construction management, or related field
  • C-10 electrical license
  • NABCEP Installer certified

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • No lifting requirements needed
  • Must be able to access rooftops, inspect equipment in tight spaces, drive for extended hours, work on computer/tablet from the field
