SUMMARY OF ROLE

 

SunPower is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to perform duties related to all aspects of HR and provide a positive employee experience through many employee facing transactions. The HR Generalist will be responsible for the implementation and administration of HR programs and provide management and employees with a full range of human resources services across all functional areas including recruiting, employee relations, compensation, employment policies and practices, performance management, learning and development, and employment law issues.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Employee Relations: Provide coaching and counsel to management and employees to drive resolution in line with policies, guidelines and employment law. Counsel employees and provide support to managers concerning work related problems. Work closely with the HRBPs and Legal on sensitive ER matters.  Works with managers to deliver disciplinary warnings and performance improvement plans.
  • Provide operational support on HR policies and processes to the HRBP’s, and frontline support to managers and employees.
  • Work closely with recruiters, compensation, benefits and HR operations teams to implement programs, policies and initiatives with employees.
  • Manage the Service Now inbox and be the first point of contact for manager and employee questions regarding all HR inquiries.
  • Manage employee on-boarding process, communication with new hire, new hire paperwork, new hire orientation and any required background checks as part of the employment process.
  • Manage employee off-boarding process, communication with employee, exit-survey/exit interviews and separation agreements.
  • Provide feedback to managers on HR related issues.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are applied consistently and provide direction to senior and first line managers.
  • Conducts research and analyzes data on assigned projects

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills with passion for data integrity, process definition, and continuous learning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: concise, articulate, and confident.
  • Comfortable with a high pace environment with competing priorities and ability to remain focused and confident.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity with a high degree of professionalism in all aspects of job responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to proactively handle issues.

 

Credentials and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years Human Resources generalist or relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and/or education is required. PHR preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in HR programs and practices.
  • Experience working across multiple disciplines in HR with current local laws and statutes that govern employment practices.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office suite; knowledge of SuccessFactors a plus.
