Family Description:

Coordinates the daily activities within the manufacturing facility/fab. Manages operations processes and the management of people. Ensures attainment of level of production and activities on an hour-to-hour, daily, monthly and yearly basis. Oversees the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs.


Scope:

  • Directs activity across large multi-functional area(s).
  • Significantly impacts business results.
  • Advises senior management on overall policy and long-term goal development.


    Complexity:

  • Applies expert knowledge, managing staff to resolve complex business and technical issues.
  • Introduces state-of-the-art technology and processes, encouraging learning, challenge and debate.


    Impact / Discretion:

  • Poor decisions will result in critical delays and impact unit operations. Overall business activity may be jeopardized.
  • Engages in decision-making that governs short- and medium-term project planning and implementation.


    Interaction:

  • Manages activities of other managers and/or senior level individual contributors.
  • Plans, directs and monitors staff activities.
  • Able to influence thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations - without damaging relations.
  • Responsible for developing and delivering performance reviews and compensation decisions.
  • Demonstrates leadership in applying SunPower values both within team and with others in adjacent organizations.


    Supervision:

  • Reports to Director or above.
  • In some instances, may manage multiple functional areas and/or third party employees and, therefore, have no direct reports.


    Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience
  • And 3+ years of people management experience
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
