SunPower is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to provide HR support to our field installation team. 


In this role, you will provide proactive HR leadership and consultation to business leaders in our field operations team including ~900 employees on the US east and west coast and growing. Working in collaboration with our Employee Relations and other Centers of Excellence (COE) team, your role will be to leverage both your and your COE-partner’s capabilities to support your leaders’ development and scaling of their organization.


This role is a key advisor to leaders, providing expert HR advice and strategic and operational solutions that enable the achievement of business strategies. In addition to driving talent management and helping to architect and manage organizational design and change, this HR Business Partner will ensure the delivery of HR programs and services including talent/career development, leader/manager coaching and consultation, talent acquisition of key positions, compensation processes, performance management and employee relations.





  • Supports functional leaders in areas of organization design, development, change management, talent management, recruiting, engagement, and retention strategies, and strategic planning.
  • In partnership with peer COE leaders,  defines, builds, and implements value-added HR strategies and solutions across the entire HR ecosystem.
  • Works with peer COE leaders to implement and manage key HR processes, such as the year-end performance management process (promotion process and compensation planning).
  • Partners with the Employee Relations (ER) COE on escalated or senior-level investigations. Collaborates to monitor and manage the overall ER strategy and to drive needed/helpful management training. Utilizes data analytics and metrics to identify trends and market conditions to define, build and implement value-added HR strategies and solutions.

  • BA/BS or equivalent. Masters degree welcome but not required.
  • 7+ years progressive HR experience – ideally showing a career path of moving from a specialist or generalist role into an HR Business Partner role.
  • Experience supporting  employees in field service, construction, or related trades roles is strongly preferred.
  • Experience influencing business leaders at all levels, partnering with peer-HR and/or HR-COE leaders, and success working in a matrixed organization.
  • Hands on experience in small-to-medium, high-growth environments ideally with a demonstrated ability to ruthlessly prioritize deliverabels subject to time and/or resource constraints.
  • Demonstrated history of leveraging data to build insights/awareness, to develop solutions, and to measure post program implementation outcomes.
  • Proven knowledge in organizational and employee development, performance management, employee relations, and change management.
  • A passion for and track record of contributing to or leading innovative HR solutions and process improvements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal relationship management skills with all levels of employees.
  • Strong proficiency with HRIS systems and MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and a demonstrated ability to work with COEs and counsel to surface and address issues timely.
