DESCRIPTION: The Digital team is seeking an experienced Salesforce DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for end-to-end optimization of the Salesforce Sales and Service Cloud develop-test-deploy cycle.

 

This role wears many hats and the right candidate will be able to move fluidly between a variety of tasks including building and managing our CICD automation, managing release activities from end to end, developing test and control plans, managing to outcome and efficiency targets.

 

This manager will lead the effort for the Salesforce platform within a talented team comprised of DevOps engineers who are passionate about development efficiency, environment uptime, tool/automation reliability, and the overall performance of our applications and infrastructure. This team supports development operations for our large and growing portfolio of platforms. The Release Manager will own sandbox reliability, infrastructure capacity, environment monitoring, and automated deployment of code for Salesforce platforms. This is a critical role that requires a high degree of technical mastery to ensure the quality of our customer experience. This role requires collaboration with multiple internal development teams, external vendor/service providers, and IT/Digital leadership.

The Release Manager will be a leader within the SunPower Digital team. The Digital team is developing industry-leading solutions for partners and customers, alike. This is a highly technical, hands-on role which requires the candidate to be a great team member as well as an individual contributor. This team is committed to delivering processes and tools that provide the highest systems uptime and operations transparency. 

 

The Release Manager will report to the Senior Manager, DevOps.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Support 7+ developers in Salesforce/Apex development
  • Coordinate the readiness of all scrum teams for successful product release:
  • Conduct product release planning and deployment meetings
  • Maintain feature dependency matrix
  • Work with multiple scrum teams in the preparation and scheduling of deployments for the week.
  • Adhere to SOX compliance
  • Conduct devops daily standup, weekly backlog grooming and planning meetings and follow-up daily with developers, QA and DevOps peers to ensure releases are on schedule.
  • Act as the final gatekeeper for all changes going out to customer environments
  • Create and implement a strategy to ensure we meet uptime and performance SLA's for sandboxes and developer / DevOps tools
  • Work with the latest monitoring tools and triage network, integration, configuration, and code issues in sandboxes
  • Provide solutions using DevOps philosophy to solve automation problems and manage the infrastructure.
  • Evolve CICD, deployment, and monitoring/testing strategies to support our goal of 99.9% up-time and increasing velocity of development/deployment cycle.
  • Drive the process in which our developers operate and iterate/release.

 

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • 8+ years of experience in Salesforce development operations and release management
  • 5+ years Salesforce administration support expertise and experience
  • Salesforce / APEX development experience a plus
  • Extensive experience working within a scaled agile scrum / process
  • Rich Operations skills across; build and release management, Continuous Integration tools and frameworks such as, Git, Ant, Maven, etc
  • Good understanding of version control, and git flow technique.
  • Familiarity with at least one configuration management tool: Puppet, chef or Ansible.
  • Good understanding of orchestration/CI integration tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, etc.
  • Good understanding of standard networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, ICMP, NTP)
  • Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Good understanding of Python object programing a plus.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of related experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
