The Controller of SunPower Technologies (SPT) will lead global accounting, tax, and shared services functions of the business. He or she will set up and oversee general accounting, financial reporting, and tax functions of SPT This includes implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and Non-GAAP.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead improvements to the financial statement close process, including but not limited to systems enhancements, process improvements, and realignment of roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead the general accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, payroll, fixed assets, revenue & cost consolidation, and other key accounts.
  • Lead the global tax function in US and international jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate year end external audit, including preparation of year end audit workpapers.
  • Ensure that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting their objectives and responsibilities as well as ongoing development.
  • Ensure financial records and reports are prepared in compliance with company policies and in accordance with GAAP and IFRS
  • Assist SunPower Corporate with segment reporting and corporate financial statements.
  • Work in close collaboration with the finance shared services center in the Philippines.
  • Communication with executive and board-level management.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of people management experience
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience

 

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification
  • Public Accounting experience a plus
  • Data analysis skills with Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions at business unit and corporate
