SUMMARY OF ROLE

SunPower’s Communications team is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, quick-study Communications Coordinator candidate who will thrive in a fast-paced environment.  This is a Limited Duration position, with benefits. 

 

This is an entry level position with wide-ranging responsibilities for both internal and external communications.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Writing and distributing various internal communications; maintaining group distribution lists
  • Coordinating, contributing to and distributing the company’s e-newsletter; contributing to intranet content
  • Driving and supporting all logistics for communications-related internal events
  • Drafting press releases and securing appropriate reviews
  • Providing communication-related research and analysis
  • Managing specially-designed internal and external-facing email boxes
  • Managing communications calendar

 

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The organized and resourceful Communications Coordinator will have strong writing skills, an ability to work collaboratively with teams across all functions and an interest in both internal and external communications. Additionally:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: concise, articulate, and confident.
  • Comfortable with a high pace environment with competing priorities with ability to remain focused and confident.
  • Drives results and is solution-oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity with a high degree of professionalism in all aspects of job responsibilities.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization and follow-up skills.
    Well-developed decision making, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to proactively handle issues.

 
Credentials and Experience

  • The candidate will have an undergraduate degree in communications or journalism. Two years’ experience in public relations or communications desired (internships, part-time work) and renewable or energy understanding is a plus.

 

Other Pertinent Information

  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the United States for any employer
  • Local candidates preferred

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
