SunPower is seeking a Senior Manager of Accounts Receivable (A/R) to lead our dealer collections and cash application teams and their daily activities.  The position will report to the Director, Dealer Credit and Collections, and will be responsible for evaluating and enhancing our policies & processes while making improvements to effectively balance managing risk while enabling growth. They will also be responsible for collaborating with dealer credit and interfacing with sales leadership and our dealers.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable team, including ownership of policies and procedures.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior management and business partners on A/R related matters.
  • Review and refresh and implement A/R policies within our dealer 3rd party financing program.
  • Develop the necessary standards, procedures and policies for ensuring we have collections processes that can scale across multiple products and future endeavors.
  • Manage and monitor the relationship with our 3rd party collections vendor and ensure a timely offloading of uncollectible accounts.
  • Build and maintain executive and traditional, and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Manage collection/dispute activities, build solid working relationships between internal/external customers and continuously improve internal processes to incorporate best practices and technical solutions.
  • Maximize efforts of the Dealer Collections team in their collection efforts on accounts receivable.
  • Maximize efforts of the Cash Application team in their efforts to reconcile
  • Lead efforts to develop payback plans for dealers with delinquent accounts that manage ongoing risk while collecting on past due amounts.
  • Work with the legal team to develop solutions to maximize collections when delinquent accounts require legal involvement.
  • Facilitate closed loop learning between credit and collections teams to ensure continuous improvements in our credit and collections policies
  • Act as main point of contact on collections escalations with senior sales leadership and dealers.
  • Develop comparative industry analyses and competitive assessments.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years of relevant experience in credit and collections
  • 5 years of experience managing a team in a similarly sized company
  • Experience with B2B collections and terms negotiation
  • Skilled communicator and presenter with the ability to influence and motivate others along with stakeholders. ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with sales teams and other analytics team members
  • Experience in managing change across an organization through clarity of message, command of subject matter and effective delivery
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working and making impactful decisions in a fast-paced environment • Problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to analyze complex information to identify the key issues/actions and drive to resolution
  • Ability to manage direct and dotted line reports in multiple locations.

Preferred Requirements


  • Master’s degree in finance or business management similarly related field
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Proficiency in all other Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, solar markets and related regulatory issues is a plus, but is not required
