Senior IoT Platform Software Developer

 

SunPower is looking for a skilled senior software developer to help process gigabytes of data so we can produce gigawatts of power!

 

ROLE:

  • Senior developer for advanced IoT Platform
  • Plan and develop new platform features and components
  • Build and maintain test automation, CI/CD frameworks
  • Configure cloud infrastructure for high availability of critical services
  • Keep databases tuned and running smoothly
  • Monitor logs and proactively fix potential issues

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years software development with Java, Ruby, Python, Scala, or other OOP language
  • Knowledge of distributed data systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, HBase
  • Knowledge of SQL databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with event processing frameworks, such as Akka, Kafka, Kinesis
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player who is passionate about solving challenging problems
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience

 

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with Scala development
  • Experience developing on AWS, such as with: RDS (MySQL), Kinesis, EC2, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, CloudWatch, SNS, SES, Route53, VPC networking
  • Experience developing and supporting highly available applications
  • Big data processing, especially stream processing
  • REST API frameworks, especially Play
  • Experience with Docker and AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS)
  • Experience with Cassandra database design, tuning, scaling and management
  • Experience using Jenkins for CI/CD
  • Knowledge of solar (Photovoltaic) power generation
