The SunPower Financial Products team is looking for a Product Management leader to own the product vision for the Partner Experience.  Reporting to the Director of Product Management, Acquisition, this role will be a key member of the Financial Products team.  You will own the product vision for all the software used by the dealers and homebuilders who arrange to finance SunPower solar and renewable energy systems.  Given that 85% of residential solar system sales in the US are financed, and that over 80% of SunPower’s sales are made via partners, this function is of great strategic importance to SunPower.  You will drive features for how dealers and homebuilders arrange SunPower financing for homeowners, ranging from highly scalable APIs for our largest partners to simple desktop and mobile interfaces for smaller partners.  This role will deliver business impact through a variety of metrics, including SunPower's financing market share, and the revenue and profit driven by our financial products sales tools.  By making our credit application and approval process simpler, faster, and more self-service, we can improve the homeowner experience and reduce dealer/homebuilder effort and risk, allowing our partners to get paid faster.

This is a high visibility role with considerable autonomy, scope, and potential for immediate impact.  You will be the voice of our most important 3rd party partners in front of SunPower senior leadership teams.  You will own the definition, execution, and delivery of all software relevant to the Financial Products partner experience with SunPower.  You are strong at execution and able to collaborate with sales, engineering, business, and finance colleagues to deliver a delightful, cohesive, and scalable experience.

Your mission is nothing less than to envision the future of B2B2C solar financing.  You will build experiences that surprise and delight dealers and homebuilders and unlock growth.  Your responsibilities will include engaging with our partners to identify requirements, defining product features, and working closely with software development teams to get those features in the hands of our customers.  You will also work with our Sales, Business Development, Treasury, and Financial Products Operations teams to design and deliver a cohesive customer experience both on- and offline.  Successful applicants will have experience defining products, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating to many stakeholders at all levels of the company, both in writing and in meetings.

On this team, you’ll get to wear many hats, work fast and smart, and iterate quickly.  We are looking for someone ready to take ownership of a growing business opportunity and join a tightly-knit team tackling a very interesting and challenging opportunity.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development, or technology.  Successfully delivered complex products that scaled over time.
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery, including building, delivering, and operating products in a consumer-centric space, both desktop, and mobile.
  • Customer-obsessed.  Excellent customer intuition when faced with product tradeoffs.
  • Strong ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, make recommendations, and drive actions.  High attention to detail.  Eats complexity for breakfast.
  • Strong project planning/execution skills including estimating, scheduling, and executing on tight deadlines.  Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A natural team player with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker who will actively contribute as a member of the Financial Products leadership team, including setting the strategy and deciding what our next best investments should be.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in fintech / digital lending businesses.  An understanding of the state-of-the-art in the US non-bank digital consumer lending space.
  • Experience optimizing a large, complex online customer acquisition funnel with many channels and products.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic relationships with 3rd party online sales and marketing partners.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit who wants to change the world and naturally prefers to move fast.
  • Ability to actively hire and develop talent.
