Summary of Role:

The Manager, Design Training and Quality will oversee all quality and training-related programs within the Residential Design and Engineering teams. A keen focus on quality is paramount to a well-functioning solar operation, and this person will ensure that there is the right attention in the right places, and that measured improvements occur.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage business processes to ever-improving quality targets
  • Develop and maintain systems that ensure quality products are generated from design processes
  • Generate quality-related standard operating procedures for production teams
  • Set up QA / QC systems
  • Manage the design rework process and associated metrics for improvement
  • Perform quality reviews
  • Document, train and drive compliance to best practices
  • Manage training content and delivery
  • Collaborate with leadership to deliver software improvements that support improved quality
  • Manage a system that ensure products coming from internal and external partners meet quality standards
  • Create and utilize reports and dashboards within Salesforce and Qlik Sense to understand various workflows
  • Generate process maps and related documentation
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators that align with department and company goals
  • Be open to change, creative, optimistic, and set the example for team culture
  • Create and maintain metrics and reports in various formats

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience managing a system or team to performance targets focused on quality
  • 2+ years generating and delivering training content
  • 2+ years of experience performing analytics, metrics generation, or statistical analysis
  • 2+ years of experience working in a department or people management position
  • Salesforce reporting and data analysis proficiency

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in design or engineering in solar, electrical, or residential construction
  • Experience engineering battery storage and multi-family solar
  • Advanced knowledge in solar construction methods
  • Excellent understanding of NEC and I-codes as it relates to solar and storage
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft suite, Salesforce
  • Qlik Sense reporting and data analysis proficiency
  • Lean / six sigma experience

  • Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for working hours
  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable method

  • Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
  • The position requires travel with the potential of overnight stays between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Less than or equal to 30% travel.
  • Day to day work is completed in the office or remotely at personal computer M-F, first shift hours
