Studies show that the #1 barrier to solar adoption is concern over how to pay for initial installation. The mission of the Financial Products team is to remove that barrier by making it cheap and easy for customers to go solar by offering a variety of financial products.  This is an opportunity to have an impact on SunPower’s core strategy within Financial Products.  Raising the bar for customer experience is core to SunPower’s strategy and this role plays a critical role.  

 

SunPower is seeking a Director of Servicing and Portfolio Performance who will own and implement key strategies to manage and improve portfolio performance.  This position will play an important role in defining strategy, aligning on best practices, and process improvement through innovation and automation to continuously improve the performance and profitability of the portfolio.  This role requires a leader that is dedicated, result-driven, and obsessed with data driven decisioning.  This position will manage all consumer collections, loss mitigation and recoveries for the third-party owned portfolio. 

   

Basic qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, or finance. 
  • 8+ years of collections and servicing experience in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience in portfolio management and consumer financing, including a deep familiarity with US consumer collection regulations, including FDCPA, UDAAP, FCRA, and privacy risk management. 
  • Strong technical and analytical aptitude. 
  • Demonstrated ability to identify areas for process improvement, redesign, and waste reduction.   
  • Experience using data to drive decision making and have an obsession for continuous improvement. 
  • Ability to dive deep and find gaps that need to be addressed; and effectively identify, communicate, and recommend the best available solution to implement.  
  • Experience in managing 3rd party agencies and vendors. 
  • Extensive experience in implementing collection and loss mitigation strategies to  improve portfolio performance and increase asset recovery.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following (other duties may be assigned): 

  • Develop and implement key portfolio strategies and processes to mitigate losses, improve collections and align with best practices. 
  • Partner with compliance to ensure servicing and collections policies, practices and procedures meet applicable federal, state, and local regulations.   
  • Manage bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings ensuring proper handling of account servicing.  Authorize legal proceedings; review legal documents for accuracy and completeness such as default notices, surrender notices, bankruptcy procedures, or foreclosure notices. 
  • Establish and monitor delinquency targets, roll, and cure rates, and overall portfolio performance.   
  • Use data to analyze, measure and track performance with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Key stakeholder in weekly delinquency review sessions with senior leadership, including dive deep on root cause analysis and provide recommendations to improve credit policy.  
  • Manage and own the relationship with 3rd party collection agencies. 
  • Facilitate communications and meetings related to customer complaints; handle escalated customer complaints, in a professional courteous manner.
  • Manage and oversee third-party owned collections team and responsibilities. 
  • Cross collaborate with other departments to define and enhance the customer experience.   

 

This is role will require a certain amount of in office attendance with some time being remote.
