SUMMARY OF ROLE:

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst with a strong understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts. Experience with utilizing advanced mathematical, statistical and data mining techniques to collect data, analyze and construct solutions for complex business problems. They will be responsible to interpret and analyze data using statistical techniques and provide analysis to drive business outcomes. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Works on complex assignments where effective data analysis requires evaluation of multiple and diverse sources/factors.
  • Exercises excellent judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria.
  • As a subject matter expert, contributes to the development of new ideas and methods to improve functional performance.
  • Seeks to understand current operation challenges, suggesting new and improved methods.
  • Assures that functional output is developed and delivered to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Provides technical expertise in identifying & evaluating problems, then developing systems, data analysis, and procedures that result in cost reduction and/or revenue increase. 

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at problem-solving, programming, queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting tools (Python, R), databases (SQL, etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Bring creative thinking and ideas to improve work processes, end products, and team efficiency.
  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or related quantitative field and 5+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 


Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience
  • Postgraduate coursework is desirable
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
