Essential Functions

  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for the month-end close cycle.
  • Post all payroll journal entries from the payroll file.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to allocate expenses for vendors paid by SPMOR.
  • Perform all work pertaining to cash receipts, AP, AR, PR.
  • Maintain reconciliations and track inter-company receivables/payables for expenses paid by SPMOR and received by other SunPower entities.
  • Prepare and print 1099s for all entities (once per year).
  • Assist with other ad-hoc reporting projects.
  • Help develop, maintain, and train staff on accounting policies and procedures, including internal controls.

Position Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge, and skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Preferably working with a larger ERP system (SAP/Oracle).
  • Proven experience with full-cycle accounting including accruals, cash processing and payroll. 
  • Experience working with reconciling balance sheet accounts and assessing income statement variances
  • Intermediate-advanced level capabilities with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record of collaborating across departments, including different levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Must be able to work within time constraints, without compromising on quality or accuracy, in an interrupt driven environment with multiple, sometimes competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as thrive in a dynamic, open-office team environment. 
  • Self-directed and proven initiative to work effectively as an individual and on a team.
  • Results and solutions oriented, and goal focused.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
