Family Description:


Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines including robotic assembly equipment used in the production of the company's product. Responsible for the overall operation of potentially large-scale manufacturing machinery including actions such as feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product from the line. Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks. Checks and inspects operation results against predetermined tolerances. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Production Operator will operate manual, semiautomatic, and automatic equipment in the assembly and testing of photovoltaic modules. 


Essential Functions:

  • Set-up, load/un-load and monitor production equipment holding tolerances to specifications and insuring quantity of work being produced is meeting or exceeding production goals
  • Setup, operate, track performance and adjust production and test equipment
  • Shut down equipment as required
  • Change out equipment consumables as needed
  • Visually inspect and access overall quality of the process and product, including cell and soldering quality
  • Execute procedural preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Support and troubleshoot tool operation problems and equipment repairs
  • Support inventory counts
  • Transport raw materials, finished products and WIP
  • Finish, detail and clean modules
  • Apply existing work instructions, process specifications, test specifications, and technical documents in completing process steps
  • Participate in process improvements.

Position Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of experience, knowledge, and skills:

  •  A high school diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) preferred.
  • Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical equations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) in all units of measure.
  • Good comprehension skills
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Have a high degree of focus on quality, housekeeping, and a drive towards meeting or exceed output goals.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Additional Requirements – Must be able to:

  • Stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time
  • Work a CWW 12 hour shift schedule either day or night shift
  • Perform tasks that require frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, walking, stooping and/or bending
  • Perform repetitive tasks and use tools that require fine motor skills
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs
  • Ability to lift or move objects that weigh up to 30 pounds
  • Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels
  • Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts
  • Wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses and steel toe shoes
  • Work alternate schedules to meet production goals
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position 
  • Work with various hazardous materials including epoxies, chemicals and volatiles
  • Handle the following production materials which include but are not limited to:  Glass, EVA, Cells, Back sheet, ribbon, flux, framing, and junction boxes

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No prior experience required.
