Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance with all environmental permits.
  • Responsible for documentation and completion of all routine environmental reports (i.e. TRI, Tier II, Air Emissions Inventory, etc)
  • Responsible for site waste management including hazardous waste accumulation and shipping.
  • Actively drive the development and coordination of Emergency Response training, drills, equipment, and plans
  • Lead the ongoing development and training on the HSE Management System, driving proactive behaviors
  • Manage the development of ISO 45001 and 14001 Management Systems
  • Manage all aspects of contractor safety training program and safety program reviews.
  • Perform site audits (JSA’s, Ergonomic reviews, routine inspections, compliance audits) with area owners
  • Provide training to employees on various safety elements as required by law or internal programs and expectations
  • Participate and / or lead site safety teams and committees.
  • Participate in shop floor safety team meetings and trainings.
  • Manage the ongoing industrial hygiene monitoring by performing field data collection
  • Collaborate with tool owners to design, monitor and manage procedures for the safe operation and maintenance of the tools
  • Define, implement and maintain statistical process control as applicable
  • Support specify, coordinate, and drive acceptance tests for new systems
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction programs, specifically aligned with sustainable practices

 

Position Requirements

This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who is self-motivated, works well with others and has demonstrated technical leadership skills in a fast-paced production environment.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following education and experience:

  • BSENVE, BSOS, BSME, BSChE or equivalent
  • ASP, GSP, ASM, or CSP
  • 2+ years’ experience in same or closely related field
  • P.E. Registration a plus
  • Excellent understanding of chemical waste treatment and handling practices and control principles
  • Strong “hands-on” experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with safety and environmental regulatory agencies
  • OHSAS 45001 /ISO 14001 training or auditor experience
  • Experience as a member/leader of Emergency Response Team
  • Working knowledge of test equipment, calibration standards, statistics, SPC
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
  • RCRA Certification & 3+ yrs Waste Management Program Experience
  • 24/40 hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Proven ability to work well with production and management personnel at all levels
  • Ability to work in an office and a manufacturing environment

 

Minimum Education and Experience

  •  B.S. degree in Engineering and 2+ years of related experience or M.S. Degree and 0-2 years of related experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
