The experience we would expect the ideal person to deliver is:
 

Procures products and services for all aspects of business operations while adhering to budget considerations. Reviews requisitions and obtains quotations / bids from vendors. Coordinates multiple purchase requests in order to obtain best quote for products and services. Suggests optimum inventory levels in order to manage expenses. Develops and executes activities supporting sourcing strategies capable of delivering high quality, cost-effective materials that meet standard and custom project requirements. Responsible for cost, quality, and delivery of standard and custom materials and equipment supporting utility-scale solar photo-voltaic power plants.

 

Essential Functions

  • Daily interaction with external suppliers for procurement of goods and services. 
  • Assignments may require initiative regarding pricing revisions, order cancellations, discontinued items, acceptable substitutes, delivery date revisions and invoice discrepancies.
  • Run analysis to identify sourcing opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Support Director of Supply Chain as required. This may involve meeting facilitation for sourcing / vendor meetings.
  • Maintains files, logs, records of invoices, purchase orders and other related documentation.
  • Expedite orders as needed with an emphasis on prevention of stock outs.
  • Develop and maintain resources for assigned commodity items.
  • Prepares standard requests for quotation.
  • Monitor quality, service, and delivery issues, and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Research order and delivery discrepancies and resolve MRP related issues. Take appropriate corrective actions to prevent similar issues.
  • Manage MRP for specific set of commodities.
  • Identify and resolve supplier and internal errors that result in schedule discrepancies.
  • Provide continual improvement of the planning and reporting processes.
  • Participate in project milestone meetings.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a 4-year degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field and 0-2 years related experience (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills and organizational skills with extreme detail and accuracy.
  • Able to use systematic approach to decision-making, and exhibits judgment and understanding of issues.
  • Previous experiencing or understanding of ERP/MRP systems (Navision, Oracle, SAP preferred).
  • Requires an understanding of planning and purchasing procedures.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work effectively within time constraints in an interrupt driven environment.
  • Innovative, driven, self-directed mind.  Works well independently and in a team environment.
  • Personal characteristics include high energy level; comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities; strong analytical and reasoning abilities; well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables in an often competing environment.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience

 

This is a limited duration 12 month project role.
