Job Summary & Responsibilities

As a Project Development Intern, you will be part of SunPower’s Commercial Project Development team. In this role, you will work with experienced analysts and developers towards our shared solar deployment goals. In this effort you will interact regularly with SunPower's Digital, Project Finance, Business Development, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) teams to test and develop one of the most critical digital tools for the future of our business: The Indicative Pricing App (IPA).

The IPA integrates our most critical tools that allow us to price and bid deals in their early stages. Currently, developers must rely on analysts to run complex tools in sequence even for early-stage deals with low information. With the IPA, our team will be unlocked to quickly and accurately bid to a much broader range of potential customers, identifying within minutes whether they are good solar candidates. Because the IPA integrates all the critical inputs that make a deal “tick”, working on the IPA will deliver deep insight into the solar industry at the project level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Understand the basics of our design and pricing tools through daily communication with our Project Development Analyst team
  • Understand the basics of our Minimum Viable Product of the IPA through close coordination with the Digital team and Project Development team IPA sponsors
  • Test the IPA accuracy and UI both independently and through joint testing with Project Developers and Project Development Analysts
  • Identify and escalate errors, weaknesses and blind spots of the tool
  • Track and report on early success of the tool
  • Develop prioritized recommendations for additional features and functionalities of the tool for management
