This person will support the development of sales proposals including RFP responses, and develop, write, and edit a variety of materials for proposals concerned with providing marketing and customer acquisition services to SunPower Sales Account Executives. Potential assignments include technical responses, corporate experience, and solar PV project information. These assignments will range from producing discrete subsections to writing and managing entire sections within a proposal. The successful candidate will work with subject matter experts or process owners to transform product and service solutions into complete, compliant and compelling proposal language. This person will ensure proposals demonstrate value to prospective customers, while ensuring the proposals are easy to read and consistent throughout. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must be willing to work in a team and have demonstrated ability working in a fast-paced environment. Experience writing and preparing proposals is a crucial advantage.




1. Review, analyze, and interpret technical and other requirements provided in RFIs, RFPs, and informal sales solicitations to gain a thorough understanding of the objectives of each solicitation

2. Conduct research on the appropriate subject matter for the proposal, including interviewing subject matter experts, researching company and customer information, and other substantive source material to write and produce proposal sections

3. Gain understanding of challenges potential customers are facing through information available within organization, as well as external resources. Ensure proposals address these challenges in a meaningful way

4. Organize material and complete writing assignments according to required format, outline and schedule set forth by the prospective customer

5. Write and edit material for proposals, qualifications statements, presentations, and other assignments

6. Act with significant autonomy in working with operations personnel and subject matter experts to compile and optimize their proposal contributions

7. Conceptualize clear, informative technical graphics

8. Respond to standard requests for information with limited input

9. Meet tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality

10. Perform in-depth editing of draft responses for clarity, continuity, readability, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and spelling

11. Actively seek opportunities to learn from team members, with a desire to advance skills (especially related to company strategy and offerings)

12. Work under general supervision; a wide degree of creativity, initiative and latitude required




1. Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience as a Technical Writer or Proposal Writer, or transferrable writing experience

2. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills as well as verbal and written communication skills in English Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, 365)

3. trong proficiency in formatting documents using such features as Word styles, templates, and layout control

4. Experience working with SMEs to deliver quality documentation or proposals

5. Demonstrated ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced and high-energy environment

6. Strong time management and prioritization skills Experience with data management system such as SharePoint an advantage
