Summary of Role:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance for the Asset Management Business Unit, the Director of Accounting will lead the accounting and finance functions for the Asset Management. Successful candidates will oversee and scale general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, financial systems governance, and best practice procedures. The Director of Accounting will work closely with the rest of the senior leadership team at the Asset Management Business Unit and SunPower.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead improvements to the financial statement close process, including but not limited to systems enhancements, process improvements, and realignment of roles and responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial information for external reporting, audits, and reviews
  • Direct the budgetary planning and reporting process for the Asset Management Business Unit
  • Coordinate year-end external audit, including preparation of year-end audit work papers
  • Maintain internal control and best-practice financial accounting processes, including the development of enterprise standards
  • Work closely with Business Unit Controllers and other functional leaders to identify and develop necessary controllership related tools
  • Ensure financial records and reports are prepared in compliance with company policies and in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Work in close collaboration with the global finance shared services centers in the Philippines
  • Communication with executive and board-level management
  • Develop and implements training programs to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment; a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker who will own, in partnership with the CFO, Corporate Controller, and Technical Accounting Controller the accounting operations for the enterprise

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 10+ years of relevant experience
  • CPA certification or international equivalent
  • Passionate, energetic, flexible, and ready to lead
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions at the business unit and corporate level

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamic and Oracle a plus
  • “Big 4” Public Accounting experience a plus

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for working hours 
  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable method 
  • Able to position and move objects up to 10 pounds 
  • Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency 
  • The position requires travel with the potential of overnight stays between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Less than or equal to 10% travel. 
  • Day to day work is completed in the office at personal computer M-F, first shift hours 
  • Ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines, telephones, but occasionally may be above average for portions of the business day
