Summary of Role:

Solar Advisors at SunPower are responsible for enhancing customer awareness and providing a positive customer experience while maintaining a sales-focused mentality. As a Solar Advisor, you are the face of the company and will be responsible for selling the SunPower difference in a way that will ignite excitement for our brand.

We are looking for results-driven individuals who are willing to engage potential customers with our suit of solar options. Individuals in this role will be responsible for marketing the company’s products and/or services via telephone, answering customer questions and qualifying potential customers for services. Solar Advisors must keep up to date with industry knowledge as well as the competitive posture of the company. In addition to engagement, a Solar Advisor must maintain detailed notes on their leads. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Complete Solar Advisor training and learn how to accurately qualify customers for solar systems
  • Engage prospective customers and dealers nationwide, educating them about SunPower’s product offering
  • Contact, qualify, and schedule appointments with homeowners who have expressed interest in solar
  • Discuss benefits and answer questions regarding SunPower’s products through inbound and outbound calls
  • Display creative problem-solving in presenting solutions to customers considering going solar
  • Be an active contributor to a positive team atmosphere by collaborating and maintaining professionally amicable relationships
  • Prepare, review, and submit up to date information on customer’s homes and property to the field and/or inside sales teams
  • Maintain relationships with the pipeline of sales leads

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to use and visually comprehend Google Earth imaging
  • Evidence of exceptional judgment and critical thinking
  • Takes initiative and is prepared to resolve customer concerns
  • Must be motivated, well organized, highly detailed, and committed to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate with confidence and poise
  • Maintains the highest level of sales ethics and integrity
  • Verbal communication, phone skills, listening skills, attention to detail and professionalism
  • Must be coachable, engaged and open-minded during training and be willing to ask questions

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in sales or someone with a sales background
  • Previous experience with outlook, dialer and Salesforce also preferred but not required
  • Experience working in the solar industry

 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to traverse/maneuver the job site for extended periods of time and survey/assess all aspects of the construction process
  • The position regularly works in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, cold and freezing temperatures, and exposure to poisonous plants, insects, and allergens
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel between warehouse and job sites
  • The environment of this position is a combination of both office and outside external, customer home and job sites
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear (communicate verbally in person and via telephone), and be able to read computer screens, correspondence and report
  • The position requires travel with the potential of overnight stays between assigned facilities and various locations within the community. Less than or equal to 10% travel.
  • At times the job may require weight to be lifted up to 50 pounds
  • The job requires the following types of vision: close, distance, peripheral and depth
  • Work in an office environment and sustain posture in a seated position for moderate periods of time
  • Hearing must be adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone
  • Able to communicate orally with management, co-workers, and the public in face to face, one on one and group settings
  • Able to use and learn standard field operations equipment, standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
