JOB DESCRIPTION

SunPower is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team in building API’s for our monitoring and data platform.        

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Responsible for software solutions by studying business needs; conferring with other devs; studying systems flow; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
  • Accomplish organization mission by completing engineering tasks and updating as needed.
  • Assist in task planning, estimation, and scheduling.
  • Work with product owners to ensure that relevant information systems serve the business needs effectively.

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years experience in software engineering with back-end focus and experience with Java 8 or higher. 
  • node.js experience
  • RESTful API design and execution experience
  • Development experience in a cloud environment such as AWS or GCP

 

Preferred requirements

  • Developing versioned REST endpoints
  • Familiarity with AWS serverless application components
