Summary of Role:

Are you a standout product marketer looking to grow within an innovative industry? SunPower seeks a Senior Product Marketing Manager who will be responsible for leading the overall product marketing efforts as part of our in-house Creative Studio team. This role will also work closely with the product team to develop strategic plans and messaging to promote our products and their features.

To be successful, you must possess excellent relationship-building skills to develop solid partnerships with the Creative Studio, marketing and product teams. You must also have a proven track record of staying cool under pressure, possess outstanding process management skills, presentation skills, and have the ability to think strategically and creatively.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Directs the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s), including product strategy definition, requirements analysis, and pricing.
  • Monitors the development of business plans, assesses market penetration, and product positioning to drive competitive advantage, revenue and market share.
  • Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured product marketing plans.
  • Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs.
  • Communicates customer feedback to engineering, marketing and sales to enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).
  • Studies the company’s products, locating key features that will attract customers and creating marketing messaging and content for products.
  • Develops effective marketing strategies and plans.
  • Translates technical details into benefits for the user.
  • Follows and analyzes market trends to position products.
  • Determines the type of advertising and marketing content that needs to be created and distributed.
  • Manages a calendar scheduling the creation of each piece of content and the planned release of each piece of content.
  • Works with the Creative Studio to develop the desired content.
  • Outlines product marketing launch timelines and oversees each project’s successful execution.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Product Marketing Manager, Brand Manager or similar role
  • Experience in market analysis
  • Familiar with product marketing tactics (e.g. integrated marketing campaigns)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Analytical mind and strong quantitative skills

 

Supervision:

  • Reports to Director of Creative Studio and Web Content Strategy


Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related experience and 2+ years of people management experience
  • Post-graduate work is desirable
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience

 

Preference is for the individual to be located in San Jose, CA, Richmond, CA, or Austin, TX however open to this position being remote
