Financial Product Manager


SunPower is seeking a Financial Product Manager to help grow our US Residential third-party owned business.   In addition to managing the profitability of the lease portfolio, you will focus on defining and executing cross-functional strategic initiatives to create additional value for SunPower and our customers. You will leverage consumer insights, market needs and go-to-market strategy to fine-tune your offering. In addition, you will help define and evaluate new product offerings, coordinate cross-functional market launches, define success metrics, diligently track key metrics and improve new products over time. 


As a Product Manager, you will work closely with a variety of business functions ranging from Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Product Teams and coordinate execution across these functional groups. The Financial Product Manager role is among the most challenging and rewarding. We are looking for a highly-talented and driven individual who is excited to take on this challenge.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Analyze current and new product offerings, market opportunities, competitors and business models to inform strategic recommendations on new product development, market expansion, and management of existing product lines
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop, launch, and evaluate product and pricing strategies with a specific focus on the New Homes channel
  • Own pricing initiatives end to end from strategy to execution using a metrics-driven approach and continuously driving improvement in these metrics
  • Evaluate the profitability of SunPower’s residential financial products and support business forecasting
  • Liaise with project finance team to ensure financing needs for TPO business are met; maintain/optimize financial models used to determine TPO economics 
  • Lead various qualitative and quantitative research to better understand customer perspectives and refine insights to actively improve our products; distill market feedback into coherent market-specific pricing strategies
  • Define and communicate requirements for software solutions used to convey customer financial offers, as well as support ongoing software-related financial product needs
  • Analyze policy and incentive changes in relevant markets to ensure strategic business response and product compliance 





  • Educational: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or other quantitative discipline required. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience at a consumer finance or a renewable energy company
  • Strong work ethic and ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced work environment
  • Detail-oriented and organized with superior analytical abilities
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think creatively to solve complex business and financial problems
  • In-depth understanding of finance/valuation concepts and financial statements
  • Extensive financial modeling experience
  • Superior knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint



  • Position is in Austin, TX or Richmond, CA
  • 10% of travel required
