Position Summary:

SunPower is seeking to hire a Finance Manager, Global Supply Chain, located in Austin, Texas.

This is an opportunity to be the key business partner for SunPower Global Supply Chain, Global Commodity Management and Global Logistic organizations and provide financial support for sourcing projects that drive $100+M dollar buying decisions:

 

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Vice President, Global Supply Chain to develop the business strategy and meet material, warehouse and logistics cost objectives:
    • Review and validate economic models and analytics ensuring initiatives are traceable to financial metrics and resource allocations are justified
    • Global Supply Chain management reporting

 

  • All financial/business analyses and financial business cases needed to drive $100+M of incremental profitability, e.g.:
    • SunPower mid-term and long-term products cost roadmap and product strategy (quarterly cost roadmap, material cost roadmaps for every business unit)
    • Vendor negotiations,
    • Support ad hoc projects / analyses as needed

 

  • Driving cost saving initiatives working closely with commodity and sourcing managers:
    • Establish savings targets and reporting mechanism of performance, track material cost reduction across all product families and drive accountability
    • Identify cost opportunities: support transition plans to new vendors, low cost countries; new product introductions; financial engineering
    • Provide competitive benchmarking, should-cost analyses, etc.
    • Take part to vendor negotiations: review contracts, terms and conditions; perform vendors’ financial analyses

       

  • Driving cash improvement
    • Partner with Logistics to build inventory optimization models,
    • Coordinate key initiative opportunities and share best practices (vendor managed inventory, configure to order, excess inventory, payment terms, …)

       

  • FP&A budget management
    • Oversee department budget management and analyses to support the monthly and quarterly financial close process
    • Prepare and communicate monthly and quarterly financial reports

 

It is both a strategic and a tactical position, which functionally managed 4-5 financial analysts.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience
  • Postgraduate coursework is desirable
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA or CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of experience, preferably in a high growth manufacturing environment
  • Prior Financial Planning - Financial Analysis, Cost Accounting and/or Business Unit experience preferred
  • Fluent knowledge of the elements and drivers of income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flow
  • Leadership and vision required to set the agenda and establish priorities
  • Superior interpersonal soft skills and ability to establish strong rapport and partnerships at all levels of the organization
  • Partner with resources in Asia-based shared services, work across time zones, and travel as necessary.
  • Manage 3-5 off-shore financial analysts
  • Ability to work as a team player and lead cross functional teams
  • Ability to quickly learn and acquire knowledge of new technologies and business processes
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate analytical findings into actionable solutions / processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong investigative, methodical and tenacious mind set – ability to understand, articulate, and drive toward the end objective.
  • Must be driven and highly motivated with positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Creative, disciplined and resourceful
