SUMMARY OF ROLE

This role actively partners with the leadership team to ensure the financial health of the business, collaborate on short and long-term business strategies, and own forecasting and budgeting. As Director of Operations FP&A for SunPower; this position is responsible for all financial reporting/analysis operations and customer service functions. He/she will work with these functions' teams to optimize the financial performance of their respective areas. This position plays a key role within the financial leadership team reporting directly to Sr Dir of FP&A.

Responsibilities

  •     Drives financial planning (long term, short term & Strategic):
    • Lead the annual budget and strategic plan processes for operations.
    • Manage the monthly closing process for operations, including actual results and updated forecasts
    • Track financial impact and help leadership drive productivity initiatives for our field operations.
  • Developing Actionable Insights: Structured approach to solving business problems, identifying geographic opportunities, assessing upside potential, and taking actions
  • Advising Ops Leadership: Engage with field operations center managers and leaders to ensure ongoing improvements in costs and in management of inventory and tooling/vehicles investments.
  • Supporting business growth ideas: Evaluate and accurately forecast the financial impact of entering new geography, new product introductions as well as end-of-life SKU rationalization and E&O impact.
  • Enable Strategic Initiatives. Thought leadership & support for cross-functional initiatives – facilitating Operations collaboration/alignment to accelerate market share gain and cost-efficiency
  • Transforming Ways of Working:
    • Engage with other functional areas to enhance the S&OP process.
    • Develop & own the Executive metrics dashboard and internal financial reporting tools
    • Consolidate monthly actual reporting with in-depth analysis of field operations performance for senior management decisions
    • Prepare regular reports for the CEO, CFO and C-Suite staff and other internal and external key stakeholders
    • Develop and mentor the finance team, and serve as a resource/support for other members of the FP&A team.


Minimum Job Requirements:

  • BS in accounting or finance.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 10-15 years of relevant work experience.
  • Some experience in a Construction or Field Operations environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to see the big picture and strong attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive approach.
  • Must be a flexible, self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Results-oriented with a high sense of urgency to get things done.
  • Leads with integrity; conducts business fairly, honestly, and ethically every day.
