The Copywriter position is an experienced role that produces original copy for short- and long-form marketing, sales and advertising materials, including but not limited to: headlines for web pages, email campaigns, social media, trade shows, advertising, marketing, video concepts/scripts and sales collateral. The audience is B2C, B2B and B2B2C.


For this position, you will play an important role in maintaining and evolving the voice of the SunPower brand internally and externally. You will ensure that our brand integrity is upheld on projects large and small, and partner with other designers and writers as necessary. We are looking for a rock star writer who is ready to accelerate their career growth at a company with lots of opportunities. This position is within the Creative Studio team in Austin, TX.  



  • Bring highly conceptual ideas and creative copy to the table 

  • Decipher a wide range of project briefs and deliver fully developed ideas to internal stakeholders 

  • Present work and maintain confidence in a stakeholder-facing role 

  • Dive into content, thoroughly research products and services, and know when to ask questions

  • Work collaboratively with all members of the Creative Studio

  • Create engaging and professional content that reflects our brand

  • Develop and apply advanced subject matter knowledge to address and resolve complex business issues

  • As a subject matter expert, contribute to the development of new ideas and methods to improve the business

  • Embody the SunPower brand


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of copywriting experience

  • 2-3 years of advertising agency/internal agency experience 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience


Preferred Qualifcations: 

  • Technically adept and able to convert a complex message into easily understandable copy, within brand guidelines and within short timelines

  • Experience in B2B and B2C copywriting, B2B2C

  • Experience working in a project management tool such as BaseCamp or Bynder 

  • Broad copywriting background, including web, banners, trade shows, marketing collateral, sales tools and more

  • Ability to successfully manage cross-functional projects and possess well-developed project management skills as you will be working with more than one brief at a time

  • Self-motivated, proactive and collaborative, and naturally curious

  • Solid track record of delivering creative concepts and clear copy with an outstanding portfolio to prove it

  • Must be team-oriented and collaborative with the ability to problem-solve proactively and deal with multiple priorities

  • Ability to remain steady and focused in a fast-paced environment
