SUMMARY OF ROLE

 

SunPower is seeking an Operations Manager, this position will perform functions related to Residential Financial Product (Lease and Loan) Operations Management focused on financial product contract onboarding, security lien filing (Secretary of State and County Filling) and overall management of contract modifications, invoicing and buyouts and disposition the contract thru the life cycle of the contract. This position will oversee Payment Operations, ensuring all payments are accounted for and reconciled to bank balance. They will also be responsible to manage Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and Public Utilities Commission (PUC) Lien filings for the US Residential portfolio, and will work with US State and County Recorder Offices, Lien Management Tool Admin and the Financial Services Operations Team within SunPower. Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to Lien Filling including Secretary of State, County Level UCC and Public Utility Filling. Leading the team which support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

 

  •  Manage Day to Day Lease Operations – Subledger Activities and Lien Filling
  • Manage contracts on sub ledger system and understand contract level accounting activities
  • Accountable for management of contract thru its life cycle which includes effectively following, and adhering and defining policies and procedures for Contract Management
  • Liaise with US State and County Recorder Offices to gather latest requirements for UCC and PUC Lien filings
  • Maintain an up-to-date record of State and County Jurisdiction Fees, Mailing Addresses and Requirements that feed into SPWR’s In-house Security Lien Management Tool
  • Maintain the Contract Portfolio Integrity for Investor, Jurisdiction and Sunpower and identify and mitigate any risk proactively
  • Manage administrative tasks related to PUC filing which include, but is not limited to, notarization and mailing of forms, monitoring of Rejects and re-filing
  • Identify and implement improvements in the overall security lien management that will result to efficiency & cost savings
  • Perform all other activities required &/or will be more efficiently managed in Austin and Philippines Operations Center
  • Oversee Payment Operations, recording of payment, reconciliation of payment application and addressing identified gaps and balance the books
  • Understand the Sub-Ledger Accounting impacts and manage operations activities to ensure we are complaint on GAAP Accounting
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for Operations Queries and resolve problems and troubleshoot any issues/challenges arise in managing the contract
  • Work with employees based out to various geographical locations to manage contract and operational processes

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Accounting or Finance with at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Security Lien Administration with in-depth knowledge of State and County’s Uniform Commercial Code and Public Utilities Commission filing requirements
  • Proficient in MS Office (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Power point, and other relevant application)   
  • Analytical and keen to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadline.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Can work well at different levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work with Government Organization
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including high level proficiency in financial modeling
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment
