The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Contract Manager is responsible for the negotiation, contract management, and risk mitigation for all service agreements, and performance guarantees.  The manager will be heavily involved in complex contract negotiations for multi-million dollar solar projects.  After each contract is executed, the contract manager will be responsible for ensuring that all pertinent terms and parameters are uploaded to their respective system of record. After execution the contract manager will continue to have responsibilities related to administration of contracts such as extensions, change management, stakeholder coordination and issue resolution.  In addition to the primary responsibilities above, the analyst will be heavily involved in creating new tools, procedures, and products consistent with a rapidly growing service organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

Contract Negotiation, Contract Management, and Risk Mitigation

    1. Negotiate business terms for new O&M service agreements and performance guarantees
      • Negotiations will be with customers,customer counsel, and subcontractors.
      • Goal of negotiations is to execute fair deals and protect the profitability and long-term risk associated with our service organization
    2. After execution of contracts, ensure that all deal information is properly transferred to our asset management and financial forecasting systems
    3. Provide ongoing support in the administration of active agreements
    4. Develop new contract templates

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities with this position



  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience in contract negotiations
  • Strong verbal/written communication, analytical, organizational, & time management skills
  • Operationally focused, highly motivated, self-starter who is committed to excellence


Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in relevant field


Language Skills

  • Review and comment on legal documents
  • Create written reports/memos/e-mails to communicate findings internally
  • Regularly communicate findings, concerns and needs to broader internal team and customers
  • Present SunPower O&M value proposition to customers


Reasoning Ability and Decision Making Skills

  • Help SunPower avoid unreasonable risk through proactive thinking and problem solving
  • Find balance in driving hard negotiations to mitigate contract and expeditiously close deals
  • Work well with internal teams in collaborative fashion
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities


Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience 
  • Postgraduate coursework is desirable
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience
