Summary of Role:

Manages accounting functions and the preparation of reports and key metrics reflecting revenue, margin, opex and other financial results related to the residential new homes and light commercial business segments. Formulates and administers approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency. Develops and implements accounting policies and procedures in conformance with current FASB and SEC guidance. Manages compliance of accounting processes within GAAP and company standards guidelines. Responsible for complying with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 requirement as applicable.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve customer contracts, including documentation of accounting treatment under ASC 606
  • Manage month-end close and serve as key liaison with external auditors
  • Applies expert knowledge, managing staff to resolve complex business and technical issues
  • Introduces state-of-the-art technology and processes to support new business initiatives
  • Plan, direct and monitor staff activities
  • Responsible for developing and delivering performance reviews and compensation decisions
  • Demonstrates leadership in applying SunPower values both within the team and with others in adjacent organizations
  • Reports to Director of Accounting for residential and light commercial business
  • In some instances, may manage multiple functional areas and/or third-party employees


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-8 years of related experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • CPA


Essential Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge of GAAP and SOX
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP
  • Experience creating process documentation
  • Experience implementing and improving business processes
  • Experience operating with a high degree of autonomy


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public accounting experience with a national accounting firm
