SunPower Corporation is seeking an experienced Vice President of Field Operations. The Vice President of Field Operations will report directly to the Vice President of Residential and Light Commercial Operations and will serve as a key leader on the senior management team in the Residential and Light Commercial Operations team

 

The Vice President, Field Operations is accountable for leading and managing the field operations workforce, budgets and performance metrics. The Vice President will be charged with developing and implementing world-class operations processes, systems, policies, and procedures to ensure we can deliver the highest standards of service, operational excellence and professionalism as SunPower continues to expand into the direct channels.

 

To succeed in this role, the candidate will possess a combination of big-picture vision and creativity, project management skills with detail-oriented execution, and savvy communication skills with the ability to convince external and internal stakeholders of the validity of an approach

The Vice President,  Field Operations will oversee the day-to-day activities of the direct installation and O&M teams, installation subcontractors, installation cost reduction activities, and new product launch readiness.

 

Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for end-to-end program management, including establishing the vision and strategy, tactical plan development and execution, and measurement of the success of installation and operations teams, including cost reduction strategy and new product readiness.
  • Manage and expand installation operations across multiple regions to achieve business revenue and margin goals. Effectively communicate status and potential bottlenecks are communicated and identified to ensure smooth operations.
  • Find and acquire labor and train per standard training process
  • Enforce SunPower Safety Policy and provide clear leadership to the field on adherence to the policy.
  • Drive process improvement and ensure accountability within the field and general operations group
  • Select, award and manage installation and O&M sub-contractors as needed.
  • Work with SunPower cost reduction team to track material and labor costs, and report on progress towards cost reduction goals.  Identify cost reduction opportunities and initiatives
  • Effectively interface with a wide variety of resources both internally and externally to ensure service delivery that satisfies business strategy and delights customers while driving efficient cost structure
  • As business changes lead and provide change management and standards adherence to ensure workforce and cost optimization.
  • Develop and monitor annual operations budget

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering or construction preferred or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in construction
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices and project work
  • Strong budget management experience
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Superior written and oral communication and collaboration skills
  •  Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
  •  Proven leadership, management and delegation skills
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail, grasp of the big picture and be highly analytical.
  • Ability to analyze technical, financial, and operational data
  • Strong project management and planning skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
