The vision of SunPower Marketing & Communication team is to create stories you are dying to share. This team enhances the company’s reputation as the leader in solar technology, by developing impactful storylines and communicating those to internal and external audiences across the globe.

As part of this team, SunPower is seeking a Public Relation Senior Manager to lead communications for SunPower Technologies business unit, which includes manufacturing, R&D and international (non-US) sales.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a strong PR leader, with experience in working with media and know-how for developing and executing communications strategies that deliver tangible results. He/she will understand what makes news, will be able to turn information into a compelling story and have the ability to craft press releases that get attention. The ideal person is a savvy and passionate communication leader with experience effectively and efficiently juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The person will work in tandem with colleagues in the business unit, corporate communications, marketing, products, finance and investor relations teams around the globe.





  • Develop, coordinate and execute compelling external and internal strategic communications plans that seamlessly blend with other communications, marketing and change management efforts
  • Create and manage comprehensive external and internal media messaging strategy and execution. Responsible for all r PR plan components (press releases, social posts, blogs, etc.) related to SunPower Technology key initiatives, including: technical thought leadership, product launches, project or partnership announcements.
  • Proactively identify strategic speaking opportunities at major trade events worldwide and develop appropriate content, in partnership with company’s SMEs.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with key solar industry media outlets in core SunPower territories. Manage all ongoing media relations, both proactive and reactive.
  • Build relationships with key opinion leaders and influencers to grow SunPower awareness and preference.
  • Message development and media management for trade shows and product launches in sync with the SunPower brand and regional teams
  • Maintain a keen understanding of digital media energy industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
  • Select, onboard and maintain relationships with global PR agency/agencies
  • Ability to monitor, analyze and communicate PR results to colleagues and senior management.
  • Partner with top SunPower indirect dealers and direct sales teams to communicate about customer wins and related stories



  • Degree in communications or journalism or equivalent work experience
  • 7 to 10 years’ experience in Communications required, preferably for a corporation
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns, ideally at high-tech or energy organizations. While the candidate does not need energy or solar experience, he/she will be expected to quickly ramp up on industry terminology. Strong relationships with both international energy media outlets preferred
  • bility to pitch stories and proven track record of success with all types of media
  • English mother tongue or full business proficiency. Full proficiency in a second language (German, French, Spanish, Dutch or Italian). Any other language skill is an asset
  • Strong bias for action and an ability to deliver results quickly
  • Experience with data/ measurement/ analytics
  • Self-starter, detail oriented
  • Organized, resourceful and able to effectively prioritize competing assignments. Flexibility based on workload and demand is important.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with teams across all functions
  • Executive presence and demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Experience successfully managing complex cross-functional and multi-regional projects.
  • Ability to communicate with both business and technical counterparts
  • Ability to lead in highly matrixed organizations
  • Experience in managing agencies and vendors effectively
  • Proven record of excelling in high growth dynamic categories
  • Able to bridge language and cultural barriers
  • Demonstrated experience communicating/operating within a multinational, publicly-listed corporation.
  • Outstanding strategic and tactical expertise
  • Strong communications skills, content development, especially writing for multiple types of audiences
  • Passion for new technologies, sustainability and renewable energies
  • Willingness to travel for industry events, company project sites, customer meetings and other marketing priorities.
