SunPower is seeking a Field Supervisor who will be responsible for managing multiple residential installation crews in our Southern CA office based near San Leandro. This position will report direct to an operations manager and work in conjunction with a project manager. Candidate must have the ability to multi task and track a project queue of up to 20 projects at a time. Responsibilities will include working with the Crew Lead, allocating resources as needed and ensuring project schedules are met. 


The Field Supervisor will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safety first culture and enforcing this down the chain of command. You may also be asked to project manage and interface with homeowners. This requires a customer first oriented attitude and problem solving ability. This job also requires strong computer skills and ability to work on different applications from the Microsoft Suite to our internal CRM. 


Top candidates will have a desire to grow professionally and learn as much as they can to deliver best in class solar PV systems to our customers through the management and execution of the entire installation process, including but not limited to, the permitting process, project planning, logistics, installation safety, system commissioning, customer communication and progress reporting. 


Responsibilities and Tasks: 


  • Jobsite project and crew management 

  • Review and approve timecards 

  • Assist in weekly scheduling Installation Crews. 

  • Job scouts and creates special order lists 

  • Assists in managing and controlling inventory and consumable use and spend 

  • Supervises the lead installation techs 

  • Drive Installation best practices 

  • Drive safety and quality initiatives 

  • Quality and Safety site audits as necessary 

  • Installation quality control 

  • Schedule and host inspections as needed 




Minimum requirements - The least amount of skills and training candidates must have to do a specific job.  Candidates not meeting these requirements will not be hired for this position. 

  • High School diploma 

  • Minimum 5 years of solar installation experience 

  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience. 

  • Electrical Journeyman's License 

  • OSHA 10 Certification 

  • Strong understanding of NEC codes with emphasis on residential PV installations 

  • Proficient in the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter applications. 

  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more) in addition to climbing ladders and working in high places. 

  • Valid Driver’s license 


Preferred Qualifications: 


  • OSHA 30 preferred 

  • NABCEP certification 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
