SunPower is seeking a strong engineering leader to execute on building our next-generation sales and operations platform for our customers. This individual will focus on the applications that deliver SunPower’s value proposition to millions of homeowners across the country. 

 

This role will work closely with the software development and product teams to deliver high quality, scalable products delivered across our entire residential and commercial businesses. You will work closely with the product teams to deliver a quality product with the most efficient use of resources and technologies. Core responsibilities include working with stakeholders to assemble project teams, identify resources as needed, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion. This person must have experience working across multiple technologies focused on consumer-oriented web and mobile products.  

  

The TPM must be comfortable with discussing complex technical approaches, data structures, and rest APIs. They must be detail driven and have excellent problem-solving abilities allowing them to take product requirements to create detailed user stories that can be executed by software development teams. He or she must be adept at writing user stories, executing with engineers, and managing an agile backlog.  

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:  

  • Execution on the construction of SunPower's next generation sales software, through which SunPower’s systems, and energy services are sold. Own the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects 

  • Work with product managers in developing a strategy and road map to provide compelling capabilities for SunPower’s sales channels that help them succeed in their business goals 

  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development 

  • Manage project planning, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings 

  • Instill best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work based on committed schedules 

  • Owner program execution – prioritization, planning of projects and features, and managing Stakeholder communication for commitments 

  

EXPERIENCE 

Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience 

  

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 2+ years of software development experience; 4+ years of experience in building and leading strong engineering teams 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile environment  

  • Ability to work with, and coordinate, cross-functional teams 

  • Software development background including design patterns, data structurers, test driven development 

  • Software development experience Python, Rub on Rails, Apex 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline 

  • Strong business and technical vision 

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment 

  •  Experience in the solar industry

  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work and reside in the United States 

  • Position located in Richmond, CA or remote
