As the sales-operations analyst, you will support the rapidly growing and expanding New Homes team to position SunPower as the US leader in residential new construction. The sales-operations analyst will report to the Sr. Director of Sales, providing direct support to the New Homes sales team focused on growing market share, expanding into new markets and increasing sales of battery storage nationally. The Sales-Ops analyst will work with the team to identify core markets, help lead pricing and volume analytics and help prepare winning presentations and proposals. The Sales-Ops Analyst will also be on point for evaluating market sizing, market share and market penetration to support growth objectives and setting of targets. Periodic ad-hoc analytics for our key national partners will be required in support of data requests, annual reporting, sustainability metrics and development of national contracts. Finally, the Sales Operations analyst will have a deep understanding of costs related to each program and resulting pricing, with a constant eye on optimization, efficiencies and ultimate margins.


The successful candidate will use effective questioning and analytical skills to collaborate with sales, financial products, marketing, business development and policy to understand needs, solutions, financing, and all other parts of the detailed value proposition. In addition to creating accurate financial benefit models and translating them into clear documents and presentations, you will collaborate with digital teams to help drive implementation of features and functionality required to support a rapidly growing and expanding business. We are looking for a candidate with strong, creative problem-solving skills and a proven ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment. The candidate should be self-motivated and self-directed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Conduct market, policy and financial analysis necessary to drive adoption of SunPower programs and products by the Top US homebuilders.  Use these analyses to help create complete presentations and proposals that will result in repeatable business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a process for gathering and documenting information necessary to expand the business into new markets and add incremental products.
  • Monitor the pipeline, provide reporting and analysis
  • Provide requirements, feedback and support to cross-functional teams supporting NH expansion, including digital, marketing, policy, financial products and legal
  • Build, manage, and deliver reports to effectively manage the initiatives.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the Project Finance Group to understand and participate in creative deal structuring, new financing options, power purchase agreements, etc.
  • Participate in FP&A discussions to gain a strong understanding of financial fundamentals pertaining to NH and MF business.
  • Develop an approved methodology for tracking NH market sizing, share and penetration. Update quarterly and provide real-time support for investor calls, earnings decks and other corporate reporting needs.
  • Build and prepare reports using SalesForce to respond to internal and builder requested data requests, productivity dashboards and general reporting requirements.
  • Determine the feasibility and unique cost savings for new value propositions.
  • Periodically review and analyze proposals, pricing, margin and terms for consistency with business unit expectations.
  • Recommend and drive process improvement within IT systems, including data management, reports, and dashboards
  • Develop and report on metrics; regular updates to manager and supporting teams on activities, results, and challenges
  • Possibility of managing a junior analyst



Minimum requirements – 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of related experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and years of related experience


Preferred requirements

  • Demonstrated fluency in project economics analyses (i.e., ROI, IRR, NPV, etc.) and financing.
  • Demonstrated excellent written communication skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience navigating and developing reports using CRM software such as is desired.
  • Demonstrated skills in questioning, validation, and presentations to internal and external audiences.
  • Well organized, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong team player, with skill in collaboration, project coordination, and leading and facilitating team meetings
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, engineering or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience conducting sales analyses or value-based sales proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve problems and to operate with minimal supervision.
