Summary of Role:

SunPower is seeking a Commercial O&M Analyst to support operational activities across commercial solar projects. This position is responsible for supporting SunPower’s ongoing service and performance obligations for PV and storage systems deployed by its Commercial & Industrial (C&I) business segment.  This individual will be responsible for working closely with SunPower’s commercial customers, O&M subcontractors, vendors, investors and various project stakeholders to deliver superior service and ensure its deployed systems perform at or above expectations. 

 

Specific responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing tools to manage 3rd party O&M provider safety and quality
  • Providing analysis and input on operational and commercial issues
  • Optimizing assessment of quotes and invoices, work prioritization, production guarantees, exclusions, response times and warranty claims among other processes
  • Extracting contractual requirements to refine entitlement tracking
  • Improving customer and project onboarding process, ongoing reporting and escalations
  • Assisting program management of the Commercial Solar wash program to direct wash spend and track performance improvement from washes
  • Coordinating with internal accounting and FP&A teams to develop management tools and processes to help drive financial performance of the Commercial O&M business
  • Assisting Commercial O&M team with Accounts Receivable Aging monitoring and reporting
  • Contributing to annual and quarterly budgeting processes
  • Preparing reports summarizing financial and operational performance of projects for distribution to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing centralized process for setup, billing and settlement of service agreements
  • Coordinating with SunPower sales teams to updates models for new contract pricing based on component failure rates and performance guarantee risk.
  • Developing analysis and presentations to support the O&M Team for various initiatives and integrating continuous process improvement with daily work

 

Minimum requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience or equivalent
  • Demonstrated safety, quality and customer first focus
  • Capable of identifying technical risks and communicating connections to commercial concerns
  • Successful experience working independently with limited direction and oversight
  • Ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Process oriented and strong organizational skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong analytical and financial modeling skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal interpersonal abilities; capable of interacting effectively with people at all levels of the organization, as well as outside stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time both domestically and internationally post-COVID

 

Preferred requirements

  • Undergraduate and/or advanced degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or a related field
  • OSHA Certified
  • 3+ years of experience within the renewable energy industry, especially Commercial Solar O&M
  • Practical experience with electrical wiring, remote monitoring and basic construction practices
  • Troubleshooting expertise with ability to systematically approach issues, diagnose and correct
  • Training on string inverter operation, testing and repair of storage, AC and DC systems, power meters, meteorological stations and data acquisition systems 
  • Familiarity with IV Curve Tracing, thermal imaging, aerial operations, shade analysis, configuring communications and troubleshooting Ethernet, Modbus and other networking connections
  • Strong desire to advance the adoption of renewable energies in the global energy mix
