SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Sales Trainer for the US residential business provides training support, development, and delivery of the SunPower value proposition, financial offerings, customer service, face to face sales and online sales techniques. This role will ensure our sales partners have actionable sales skills, techniques, and experience focusing on SunPower's competitive advantages.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Utilize existing, approved training materials to deliver sales training as requested.
  • Develop sales training as identified by SMEs to ensure the training portfolio remains current and aligns with marketing goals and business strategies.
  • Utilize training reports to measure effectiveness to determine and implement opportunities for enhancements to training.
  • Monitor trends in the marketplace and share lessons learned from training sessions with the Sales team.
  • Review industry trends and ensure training programs accurately reflect SunPower’s competitive advantages within the industry.
  • Partner with the channel managers, regional sales managers and area sales managers in planning, coordinating and developing curricula in line with long term and immediate term training needs
  • Act as an on-site Point of Contact for SunPower during instructor-led classes, including coordinating with onsite support staff, documenting scheduled attendance, and receiving shipped materials.
  • Execute training programs to ensure SunPower staff is trained on operational processes, sales, and financial programs.
  • Design training materials corresponding with the launch of new SunPower processes, products and strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager of Training and Field Enablement.  
  • Travel required up to 75%.

 

RELATED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements - The least amount of skills and training candidates must have to do a specific job. Candidates not meeting these requirements will not be hired for this position.

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in sales and/or sales training delivery
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with desktop software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years’ experience in direct-to-consumer sales and/or sales training delivery
  • 3+ years experience in direct-to-consumer sales in the solar industry
  • Intimate knowledge and experience with small businesses in the solar industry
  • Experience delivering online learning (e.g., Zoom, Webex)
