Summary of Role

This is a newly created sole contributor role based in Singapore providing tax advisory and operational transfer pricing work for the Group. Countries include Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, Mexico, China, Europe etc.  

This person will also play a critical role in the set-up and implementation of group transfer pricing framework and policies as well as establish the processes and systems to effect the group’s TP requirements. Managing all transfer pricing inquiries, investigating and facilitating advisory work relating to international taxes will be part of the role.

This role will also have opportunities to drive global projects in assessing new tax technologies and implementing new policies, methodologies and procedures.

Apart from holding Singapore direct and indirect tax compliance responsibilities, this position is not directly involved in day to day tax compliance matters of the other countries. However, it can be expected that there will be close collaboration with our Tax Centre of Excellence team in the Philippines on various tax-related projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Tax Director to support the business teams in any tax issues.
  • Work closely with our Tax Centre of Excellence team in the Philippines to manage the tax compliance and reporting requirements for the Group – including the review of tax forecasts, and deferred tax calculations, as well as supporting the statutory audit.
  • Focus on tax technology and data analytics
  • Evaluate, implement and maintain emerging tax technologies
  • Review the Group’s quarterly tax consolidation reporting 
  • Lead in operationalizing the Group’s transfer pricing policy accurately, including year-end transfer pricing corrections.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders and Operating Companies
  • Assist with tax process improvements projects, which may include software implementation, automation, or workpaper improvement and ongoing continuous process improvement;
  • Assure that tax technology solutions are up to date with the legal requirements which includes screening changes in law to assist in assessing the impact on the different applications in use
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Support Tax Director in cross border tax related projects and ensures efficient business structure; and follows the tax development for our operating countries and advise their implications.
  • Ensure tax compliance, tax risk management, transfer pricing and the related documentation.
  • Adherence to Internal Control Requirements - Ensure that Maxeon meets all its control requirements and achieves a satisfactory rating in all areas.


Related Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree graduate preferably Finance/Accountancy/Banking/Law or equivalent.
  • At least 5-7 year(s) solid Tax management experience
  • Transfer pricing experience with some knowledge of international tax advisory experience would be preferred.
  • Experience with US GAAP reporting, including FIN48 calculation and disclosures 
  • Knowledge in emerging tax technologies
  • Proficient in data analytical and data management skills   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently; proactive towards problems and issues.
  • Experience with working collaboratively across a global organization
